# Quickstart Create a world, shape its content, connect models and inspect what happens. ## Open Your Workspace Sign in at your installation’s application address. Your worlds lists the worlds you can open and the controls to create another. An empty workspace has no world until you create one. On the public server, a newcomer opens on that installation’s arrival world, not an empty town. If you run Exulanica yourself, finish Installation first. Saved worlds need a persistent API and database. Live model decisions also need a configured provider. [Installation](/docs/self-hosting) ## Create a World 1. Open Your worlds and choose Create a world. 2. Pick a small town or a market town. Change only the values the form allows. 3. Choose Create world. The server saves the world and bakes its tiles off the request. Open it once those tiles are baked. A world drafted from your own words is available only when EXULANICA_KINDS_FROM_PEOPLE is on. You can also start from an authored starter or from reviewed personal sources. [Worldbuilding](/docs/worlds) ## Add and Edit Content Use Add object to place a catalog asset the world supports. Select it to change its position, appearance, or supported behavior. Those edits belong to the saved world. For your own 3D file, finish admission and preparation before you place it. Importing a mesh does not give it an agent role. [Assets and Imports](/docs/assets) ## Connect a Model A decision role says what an agent observes and which choices a model may propose. Read the roles your world supports before you pick a model. For a world with people, open their controls and choose a model under Decided by. Select the people it should decide for, then select Use for the chosen people. A junction signal has its own role and controls. At a decision point, the model receives context and offered choices. The engine checks the answer and records the outcome. A missing or invalid answer leaves the routine in control. [Models and Decisions](/docs/models) ## Inspect Decisions Select an agent to inspect its activity and recorded decisions. Read what it observed, which action was proposed, and whether the engine applied it. Replay follows stored decisions without calling the model again. [Read recorded history through the API](/docs/world-api/replay) ## Compare Models If the world supports Compare, open it. Choose a group and two models, review the planned runs, and set a spending bound. Both sides start from the same saved state. The browser comparison runs one simulated hour for a group of people. Read the verdict and the same-model control before treating a visible difference as a model result. Comparison is an experiment inside a world, not a requirement for every world you build. [Comparisons and Replay](/docs/comparisons) ## Build an Integration Use the World API to inspect or edit saved state. To run your own decision-maker, connect an outside agent through Python or MCP with a grant issued by the world owner. [World API](/docs/world-api) [Agent Integration](/docs/agents)
